Right in the childhood

After 2010, the quality of TV went down. This is pure conjecture so don’t take it to heart. When I say TV, I speak of cartoons most specifically. Yes, there are some high schoolers that watch cartoons while the rest of you are ‘netflix and chilling’ it up.

Cartoons are worth watching because they can tell whatever story they want, in any form of animation they want. One of the biggest enterprises of cartoons is Cartoon Network. They’ve had the best cartoons on that channel since it came out. Billy and Mandy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed Edd n Eddy, Dexter’s Lab, Teen Titans, Codename Kids Next Door, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and so many more.

Then they had even better cartoons later on. Cartoon Network was at its peak when the introduced shows like Young Justice, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sym-bionic Titan, Ben 10 Alien Force, Generator Rex, Adventure Time, Chowder, Regular Show, and more shows that were hard to let go of because of how action packed and/or funny they were.

Then Cartoon Network died. RIP. Cartoon Network declined steadily the moment Problem Solverz came out, then followed Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, then Uncle Grandpa. At this point Cartoon Network was gone. A few of their good shows remained, but the bad outweighs the good. Why the heck did they desecrate Teen Titans and make a so-called cuter and much dumber cartoon called Teen Titans Go! The show lost all of its values and turned into a show where they hang out in their ‘Titan Tower’ and act stupid.

Uncle Grandpa is the worst show ever. It’s so bad, basically everyone who had hope for Cartoon Network lost it, as well as their respect for the corporation. The characters are stupid and the plot is so poorly crafted it’s insulting. It shows Cartoon Network’s despiration to produce a good show by taking one step forward, but in the long run, going ten steps back. Five minutes of Uncle Grandpa, it doesn’t matter how tough you are, you’ll cringe like you’ve never cringed before.

Enough about Cartoon Network. What’s going on with Disney Channel? It seems like after they tried to make good cartoons like Gravity Falls and Fish Hooks, which started off good enough, but as writers got lazy, drunk, or both the quality decreased drastically. Most of the shows now are sitcoms. Bring back Kim Possible, Lilo and Stitch, American Dragon Jake Long, The Proud Family, and Recess. Shows like these made my childhood and it’s a shame that all Disney Channel has now is sitcoms with laugh tracks played every five seconds.

Separate from the others, you can’t hate on Nickelodeon. Even though they don’t make cartoons anymore. There’s no way you can hate Rugrats, Spongebob, Rocket League, All Grown Up, The Wild Thornberrys, The Fairly Odd Parents, Hey Arnold, Danny Phantom, Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra, or any other honorable mentions.

Maybe cartoons are just not cool anymore. That seems apparent from the lack of good ones, as companies make more and more sitcoms with random laugh tracks. The least they can do is fix that. Here’s to Rick and Morty.
