Two students have been awarded top honors in the Texas 2020 Letters About Literature Contest. Junior Gabrielle Avena took first place with her letter to Hanya Yanagihara and junior Ella Johnson took second place with her letter to Gail Carson Levine.
More than 1,300 students compete in this letter writing contest. Judges score letters off of idea development, language, organization, and emotional development.

Both students were to attend the TLA Annual Conference, but it has been cancelled.
