Another Season, Another Memory: A Look Back Into Football’s Run

Dripping Springs Tiger Football’s regular season has come to an end and the playoffs are getting kicking. During this year’s regular season the Tigers went 9-1 with their one loss coming against the 6A Hays and the deficit was only 1 point. The team was led by sophomore Preston Alford at quarterback and  senior Scotty Crosby, the hard hitting free safety, to lead the defensive end. Alford went off this season with 823 total yards, 5 passing touchdowns, 82.3 yards per game, and 56 completions on 83 attempts with no interceptions. Crosby was the senior leader of this defense he had 11 solo tackles, 24 total tackles, and averaged 4.8 tackles a game. As a team this year the chemistry was real and the team as a whole averaged 134 receiving yards a game, 225 rushing yards, 48 total touchdowns, 46 tackles per game, and 10 sacks.

The team’s regular season came to an end with the win against Crocket where senior Desi De La Cruz set a school record of  4 field goals made in their 40-0 victory. The victory on senior night was special and the senior walk afterward was emotional and heartfelt. Football ended their season in the bi-district playoff round, loosing 27-28 against Manor.
