The Speech and Debate team won second place sweepstakes at the UIL Academic meet this past weekend with three students qualifying for the state meet at the end of May at The University of Texas.
Campbell Melton won first place in Persuasive Extemporaneous Speaking while Max Bibeau took third to qualify. Addie Mae Villas placed second in Lincoln Douglas Debate and will be the state alternate for Informative Extemporaneous Speaking. Lily Sethre-Brink finished fourth in Lincoln Douglas Debate, making her an alternate to state.
