Dance teams earn top prize in several categories, contests

The Hi-Steppers competed at the Alamo City Dance Classic on Feb. 16 in San Antonio.

They were awarded the following:
Line of Champions — top 8 highest scoring teams out of the entire contest.

Officer Line of Champions – top 5 highest scoring officer lines

Team & Officers highest score showmanship & choreography for jazz, lyrical, hip hop & off contemporary

Officers 2nd place best in class lyrical, jazz, contemporary

Team 1st place best in class lyrical

Team 2nd place best in class jazz & hip hop

Judges award & Sweepstakes team and officers ( 93 score or better from all judges on all dances)

Highest score hip hop technique

Highest score precision team hip hop & jazz

Best in class large school 2nd place

Social officers 3rd place medium ensemble

They previously competed at the Winter Dance Classic on Feb. 2 and were awarded to following:
1st place and Audience Appeal award team Lyrical
2nd place Team Hip Hop and Jazz
1st place and Outstanding presentation Officer Jazz
2nd place Officer Contemporary
1st, 2nd, & 3rd place medium Ensembles
3rd Place Large ensemble
Senior Solo winner Natalie Thompson
10th grade solo finalists – Peyton Beck and Sydney Lundeen
11th grade solo finalists – Natalie Green, Rylee Oldham, & Hope McFarlin
12th grade solo finalists – Maddie Zeman & Margaret Marable
1st place duet Natalie Thompson and Sofia Albini
The Dazzlers competed at the Winter Dance Classic on Feb. 2 and were awarded 1st place for Team Jazz, Lyrical, and Pom
