The TMEA Region 18 5A and 6A Band Auditions were held this past Thursday and Saturday at Akins High School.  This audition is the first step to qualifying for the 2019 TMEA Texas All-State Bands.  A total of 47 Tiger Band students participated at the 5A level, and eight at the 6A level. In 5A, seven earned District Band, 16 earned Region Symphonic Band and 20 earned Region Wind Ensemble honors.  There are 15 students that qualified for the 5A Area auditions, the next step towards All-State Band.  In 6A, all eight students earned Region Wind Ensemble honors and qualified for the 6A Area auditions.  The Area auditions will be held on January 12, 2019 at UT Butler School of Music.
