Rupaul’s Drag Race

Rupaul’s Drag race or RDR, a logo TV show, has recently become well known, and many people know the name of this show.

The show invites 12 Drag Queens to compete for the grand prize of $100,000 while one Drag Queen is eliminated every week.

“Drag race is one of my all-time favorite shows. It’s just so fun to watch and the Queens are hilarious,” Ariana Larios said.

The show has eight seasons currently (along with two seasons of an add-on show called All-Stars) and there are many Queens that you can get to know and decide whether you like them or not.

“My favorite season has to be season 7. The Queens were amazing that season, but I loved Katya the most,” Bowie student, Grace Benton, said.

There are many Queens to love, but there are also some Queens who just get on everyone’s nerves sometimes.

“Laganja Estranja just has too loud of a personality for me to understand or relate to her,” Larios said.

The judges on the show may seem secondary at times because of the fame of the Queens on the show, but they provide added entertainment.

“I love Michelle. She gives harsh constructive criticism, but she is ultimately just trying to help the Queens learn how to give an entertaining performance,” Larios said.

Although, there is some hate like any other show, from people who just don’t like the show.

“I don’t know how people watch it. It’s bad humor, with bad acting. It’s just not entertaining,” Justin Lynch said.

There will always be criticism, but also people who support the Drag Queens and look up to them.

“I would want to meet Rupaul because she put together this awesome show,” Benton said, “so that I could see all these talented people.”
