Kalandra “KoKo” Marie Kiley (Kirksey), a lovely and joyous presence at Dripping Springs High School passed away after a sudden infection.
Described as really sweet and funny by former debate teacher, Christie Trussell, Kalandra brought her classmates and teachers a brightness when in school.
“She was truly missed when she was out,” Trussell said.
A participant in partner debate and public forum, Trussell saw Kalandra’s true calling in oral interpretation such as prose, since she was such a confident speaker as a young student.
“I remember her going toe to toe with the sassy kids,” Trussell said. “She would never back down.”
The community would often encounter this confident, personable Kalandra as she worked at Dominoes.
“I love Kalandra, because no matter what, she always came in with a smile,” Jerri Ybarra, Kalandra’s freshman AP Human Geography teacher, said. “She had this beautiful outlook on life. She was very warm, just like her family.”
