The DSHS softball team has been reaching and achieving new heights this season. With an overall of 18-4 so far, you could say these Lady Tigers work hard and push not only themselves but each other every single day.

“We will continue to do what we do,” head coach Wade Womack said. “We focus on the little things.”

With several stand out layers on the team this year, there have been several great moments for most of the ladies.

“We have had several big hits in come from behind wins,” Womack said. “Most recently Paige Leschber had a walk off single to score Sydney Campbell to beat Vista Ridge.”

“We always have room to improve,” junior Sydney Campbell said. “We really want to go to playoffs.”

When it comes to playoff prospects, Womack said the team takes it one day and one game at a time.

“We try to focus on the present in hopes that it will take care of the future,” he said.

Other highlights consist of beating Canyon a few weeks ago with a score of 5-4 in 8 innings. Dani Northrup, Cami Corona, Shelbye Daniels and many others did a great job getting clutch base hits to beat Canyon.

“Kiele Miller has been outstanding in the circle for us this year, Womack said. “We have had many contributions by multiple players this year.”

“I enjoy playing the game,” junior Kiele Miller said. “We all work together which is the best part.”

Stay tuned with DSHS softball!
